Luxora

★★★★★ 4.7 Editor rating

Luxora opens with a quiet premise: the land is slowly losing its color, and you play a wanderer who can pull light back into places. That sounds abstract, but in practice it drives a genuinely warm adventure with turn-based combat and a lot of gentle exploration. The first hour is unhurried, and I mean that as a compliment.

Combat is turn-based with a small twist. Each character has an energy bar that fills as you take hits, and spending it early versus saving it for a big turn is a constant little decision. Progression is generous without being mindless: you pick a school of skills per hero, and respec is cheap, so experimenting never feels punishing. Controls are all taps and short drags, which suits one-handed play on the bus.

What stuck with me was how well Luxora respects your time. Sessions save instantly, there's no energy timer forcing breaks, and the story keeps handing you small mysteries. It's the rare mobile RPG I kept opening after I'd meant to stop.
